Announcement of a regular expressions seminar: Practical Regexes for Translators

To coincide with the BP20 Translation Conference being held in Nuremberg, April 23-25, I will be presenting a one-day seminar/workshop on regular expressions, with emphasis on their practical use for translators and how they can be used to customise (extend) CAT tools, such as Trados Studio and MemoQ. The seminar language is English.

The date is Wednesday, April 22, the day before the BP20 Translation Conference starts in Nuremberg. The seminar will be conducted at Altdorf, a small attractive town just outside Nuremberg, with good regional train connections from the city with a train station directly at the seminar location. Enquiries should be made to me as Facebook Message Request.

Fee € 290 + 19% VAT. The fee includes lunch and refreshments. The seminar location belongs to a hotel where accommodation can be booked. Free cancellation, not later than 4 weeks before the seminar date, is permitted.

Seminar agenda

The morning session discusses regex fundamentals, illustrated and augmented with many practical examples in the translation context. Particular emphasis is placed on the more-advanced, but very useful, concepts of bounds (anchors), lookarounds and atomic groups. The use of regexes for customising CAT tools (such as Trados Studio and memoQ) is also discussed in detail, again with practical application.

The afternoon session is a workshop where participants make use of the morning session to solve a wide range of practical exercises.Hier Text eingeben ...
